Grab The Games: Rising Storm 2: Vietnam

I am really happy with this review because I got the chance to play a really fun and amazing title at the same time called Rising Storm 2. Sound familiar right? But what is this game about? Is it worth picking it up or maybe some months later with a good discount? Stick around and you will find out. Let's start by mentioning a few things RS2 first.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is the sequel to PC Gamer’s 2011 & 2013 ‘Multiplayer Game of the Year,’ published by Tripwire Interactive and developed by Antimatter Games, the same team that created the award-winning and innovative asymmetric gameplay of the original Rising Storm. For the first time, the authentic gunplay and visceral first-person action of the Red Orchestra series are coming to an era of automatic rifles, man-portable grenade launchers, and more modern weapons systems. Rising Storm 2: Vietnam casts players into a brutal, authentic recreation of the Vietnam War.

To begin with, I should probably start by saying that the graphics of the title and in general the artwork is as good as I thought they would be when I first saw the trailer. The level design is amazingly full of details and large areas that you can use to your advantage. The soundtrack is quite good, and I loved how realistic the title was. Everything was there, from the original weaponry to historically accurate levels. I should also not forget to mention the fact that I loved the whole personalization aspect and the way you can customize your appearance.

However, RS2 needs some improvements to be “perfect.” One of the issues is that you can continuously get damage by others, primarily when you spawn near enemies. Another aspect that is worth mentioning is that there is no campaign pvp or PvE mode which would be something worth adding. Last but not least, some balance changes would be recommended especially for new players like me and a more effective tutorial would be recommended.

To sum it all up, the game is not perfect, it has issues, but it has excellent potential and realism that makes it worth buying. I still have faith in it despite the negative aspects but only time will tell if it gets better and stay ahead of the competition. One thing is for sure though; it is entertaining to play!
