Grab The Games: AereA
Hello everyone, it is time for another review and this time I am really honored and sooo excited to present you Aerea. AereA is a music themed Action RPG in which you play as one of Great Maestro Guido's disciples and explore Aezir; a floating island that was broken into pieces. Your mission is to find and return the nine primordial instruments to restore balance and peace to the world.
You have to find your way through all parts of the scattered islands; complete quests, solve puzzles, defeat bosses and discover the truth behind the islands. Will you be able to return the nine primordial instruments? Play as Wolff the Harp-Archer, Jacques the Cello-Knight, Jules the Lute-Mage, Claude the Trumpet-Gunner, or team up with your friends in local co-op. Collect Music Sheets to learn new skills and customize your weapons to your play style. But is this game any good? Is it worth picking it up now that it is live on Steam? Well, stick around and you will find out. ? The very first thing that I really loved in this game is definitely the graphics of this great title. They are sharp, unique and I shouldn't forget to mention that everything is hard-drawn as well.
Everything is music themed and the 4K native support makes the title even more beautiful. The story is also decent and the plot unfolds really great. There are 4 different characters to choose from each one with unique abilities and weapons based on musical instruments. How cool is that? Moreover, I should also not forget to mention that there are 9 different bosses that will fight along your journey, each one inspired by a different instrument. There are also a lot of levels, each one different from the last with a lot of different puzzles to solve and different enemies to fight as well.
There is also local co-op with up to 4 players. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, unfortunately the game is not a match for grownups. It remains too easy, the characters are overpowered from the start and you can finish most enemies with 2 hits and it doesn't provide much of a challenge. The mini-map also could have been better designed as well to provide a clearer view of the areas.
To sum up, the game is not bad but it doesn't stand out. It is a title that mostly aims for a kid audience. I recommend it only during a heavy discount.
