Grab The Games: Blues and Bullets
And I was wondering when a game like L.A Noir will come out and here we are Blues and bullets episode 1 is out and ready for you to solve some good old fashioned mysteries. But what is Blues and Bullets and what is the main story? Happy you asked. Eliot Ness, the former leader of the legendary Untouchables, wished only to spend the rest of his days working in his diner, not dwelling too much on the cesspit of corruption his city, Santa Esperanza, had degenerated into.
But things rarely go as planned. When children suddenly start to disappear and the police just simply a blind eye, Eliot decides to take the law into his own hands, track down the culprit and bring him to justice by any means necessary, even if he has to abandon his dreams of a peaceful life and again get embroiled in shootouts with the usual array of assassins and hoodlums. Helped by various characters from some unexpected places, the player must guide Eliot through the increasingly morbid and decadent scenarios searching for clues to solve the cases in the five episodes of this season's Blues and Bullets. The first thing that I loved in this title is the graphics especially the balance between black, white and red. It creates an atmosphere of mystery and helps the player enjoy the game even more.
The soundtrack is also memorable and addictive as well. As far as the voice acting is concerned it is actually quite good and I am to hear the familiar voice of Gerald (from the Witcher games) as detective Ness. Furthermore, the story in the game captivating and cleverly written especially the way the first episode starts and how the characters of the title are introduced. Another positive aspect of this title is the mixture of shooting and investigation aspects. There are various scenes when you can just kill the bad guys and other when you should investigate and find the right pieces to solve the mysteries.
There are also quick events as well which make the game even more intriguing. I should also mention that there are choices in this game which affect the whole gameplay and how the story will unfold. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, there aren't many if I had to mention a few they would be the small length of the first episode and the fact that in some quick action events there is only a small window to interact.
To sum up, if you haven't discover the beauty of Blues and bullets yet you should pick it up right away. The story is excellent, a lot of action scenes and mystery! A noir game you don't easily forget.
