Grab The Games: Crypt Cards
Another day, another review for our fans. Today, I couldn't be happier not only that we have the opportunity to review Crypt Cards which is now available on Steam (Early Access) but also that we are going to present why this title is as cool as it sounds! But what is this game any way? Is it worth the hype? Should you pick it up when available? Stick around and you will find out now. Let's start by mentioning a few things about the game itself. Let's start with the basics.
Crypt Cards is a 3D online multiplayer strategy card game with turn based battles. Select from three different minion masters, each with his own set of spells and minions. Build your deck from the large card collection and battle your friends and foes or the computer AI. Do you lack a card you want in your deck? Then there is an easy solution: craft a totally new card with the stats and attributes you want! Some small info from the product page of the title and now onward with the main review. To begin with, the first aspect I loved in this game is definitely the fact that you can choose from 3 different masters, each one with a variety of minions and spells. The soundtrack is also really unique and creates a really good atmosphere even from the most demanding players.
Furthermore, you can customize your experience even more with card skins which you can buy and sell in the in-game market of the title and craft cards you love and create your own decks. Cross-platform gameplay is also encouraged between android, pc, Linux and Mac. The campaign levels are also q lot so they will keep you busy for time and if you are bored, you can try rank and online multiplayer. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, due to its really early access state of the game I have mostly recommendations to make.
First and foremost, when both opponents have 0 cards left the game should end as a draw and not waiting until one of them reaches 0. Moreover, some custom animations for damage and the minion spawn would be highly appreciated by the fans and it will boost the game sales even more. Also, I am not sure that an in-game gem sale is a good idea despite the fact that you can earn them in-game. Some players will find it discouraging that you will have to pay for the game and then repay for gems. Additionally, more interactive background/level design would be highly appreciated.
To sum up, the game is not bad but it doesn't stand out of the similar card games either. However, I am positive that with good community feedback it will get on the right track and satisfy even the most demanding players.
