Grab The Games: DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round: Core Fighters

DOA is definitely one of my favorite fighting franchises and with Dead Or Alive 5: Last round on steam, I didn't get disappointed at all. Instead, it made me relieve all the excitement and the fun I have missed so much from the series! But what is DOA5: LR? Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is the final update to the Dead or Alive 5 series. It was released in February 2015 on consoles and is planned to be released in March 2015 on PC.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round not only has the largest character roster, but also the largest costume and stage selection in a Dead or Alive game to date. I really don't know from where to start, there are so many thing I loved in this title. To begin with, the first that impressed me is definitely the roster of the title. There are 34 characters which is the biggest roster of the series and you will find your favorite characters there for sure as well as 2 new characters that you are familiar with if you have played the old DOA games

Moreover, there are a huge number of costumes for your characters to choose and you can unlock them all through the story mode, the arcade and basically by playing all the game modes. The interaction with the environment in the stages and the stages transition (which means in a stage going to another part of the stage) are really amazing and for sure it enriches the experience of the players. The stages are really awesome and full of details which are a huge positive for me. There are also a lot of different game modes to choose from the story, to arcade and to the training modes everything is there.

The mechanics of the game are really amazing and easy to get used to! However, there are some negative aspects I should mention. First and foremost, there is no online multiplayer from day 1 of the launch which a negative for me since it would boost the experience of the gamers even more. Furthermore, there is no option to customize the controls (keyboard mapping etc) and last but not least the story is simply ok not something amazing but simply satisfying.

To sum up, I had really fun playing the game, I recommend it not only to everyone who is fun of the series but also to the people who love some good old fashioned fighting games. Dead or Alive 5: LR is the definition of how fighting games should be. Despite the negative aspects, I am totally satisfied by the game.

Verdict: 8/10
