Grab The Games: DreadOut
Horror games! We all love them. We all love getting jump scared and freak out when we see a ghost in front of our face or when we here a weird sound and we are not sure if it was the wind or something else. Today's game has all the aspects I have already mentioned and more. Of course I am talking about DreadOut.
DreadOut is a third person supernatural horror game where you play as Linda, a high school student trapped in an old abandoned town. Equipped with her trusty smart-phone, she will battle against terrifying encounters and solve mysterious puzzles which will ultimately determine her fate. Let me start my review right away so you guys know what you can expect from this title! The game features haunted environments in an Asian - Indonesian setting. Something that I really loved.
There are a lot of details in the design and a lot of places to visit. Furthermore, I loved the variety of supernatural beings you can fight during your gameplay but I will not give you any more info about them because it would be better to discover them yourself (I don't want to spoil the horror) Moreover, Linda's supernatural powers are a great asset in the game because they help you understand whenever there is something to do near you or if there is an enemy approaching. But don't be fooled even with these superpowers you will get 100% scared in this game.
Another important aspect I should mention is that the game has also a good story line even that it is simple, it is quite satisfying and it really keeps you going and motivates you to continue your adventure. Another positive for me is that there is a female protagonist because there are not a lot games that have this especially in horror games. However, there are some negative aspects I should mention. Despite the fact that this game is satisfying the design could have been a lot better and more high-end in my opinion. Moreover, another negative for me is that the game is quite short (in the current state of the game)
To sum it up, the game is really fun and scary as hell but with some big negatives at least for me. I will recommend it to everyone that loves horror games but I think it is better to pick it up on sale.
