Grab The Games: Freaky Awesome

Another day, another review for our fans. Today, I couldn't be happier not only that we have the opportunity to review it but also that we are going to present why this title is as cool as it sounds! But what is this game? Is it worth the hype? Should you pick it up when available? Stick around and you will find out now. Let’s start by mentioning a few things about the game itself.

Freaky Awesome is a hectic action rogue-lite where you have to fight your way out of an old factory, full of mutated monsters and traps; the general layout of the factory and its rooms are procedurally generated. Every enemy leaves behind a poodle of mutagen that can heal you, but also mutates you eventually even if you are in the middle of a fight! In order to survive, you will need to adapt quickly to the powers and specific mechanics of every mutation. Tearing off your head to throw it at an enemy? Sure! Laying eggs and seeing tiny copies of you hatching and fighting for you? Why not! And on top of that, you can use objects in combat and develop your character to unlock new powerful skills, as well as play in co-op with up to 4 players!

To begin with, the very first aspect that really impressed me is the graphics and in general the amazing artwork. They are really sharp and create an amazing atmosphere for even the most demanding players. It reminds me of games like Binding Of Isaac which are titles I really love. Furthermore, I loved the mutation system and the way you change during each dungeon and each fight. I should also not forget to mention that the title is also randomly generated and it changes every successful run with new unlocked locations and enemies, bigger levels, stronger bosses and new mechanics

This element adds great replayability to the title. I loved also the fact that you can keep your unlocks and everything you do even after death. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, the main issue of the game is that the mutation unlocks are really slow. One of the reasons games like binding of Isaac were so successful was because you could get many items and unlocks at a quick pace and there was an increase difficulty.

To sum up, the game is really amazing despite the negative aspects and is definitely worth picking it up. The game is really enjoyable and kept me busy for hours. More updates would definitely improve it in more and help it unlock its true potentials!
