Grab The Games: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1

Today we are looking at Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1. So this game is a remake of the original Hyperdimension Neptunia on PS3. To me they remade the game completely and that is a great thing, the original was amazing on its own but in the remake they took what made it amazing and improved on it making the combat system faster and smoother. The items and the plan system is a lot better aswell. They added many new things to the game. Everything's new from the quests, monsters, locations and bosses. They even added some new characters with a few others that you can buy with real money. But don't freak out just yet, they only cost $1 each and I think that's fair as they have nothing to do with the games story but just adds more characters to the roster that you can play as. The cool thing about that is that every single person you can play as are completely different in their style and appearance. The story of the game is still amazing and random. What I mean by that it is because the main characters of the story have a habit of breaking the 4th wall. Sometimes when they are fighting they say something like "Hey player! I hope you're ok with this" and congratulating you when you beat the chapter. I find that pretty cool but the game does know when to be serious when telling the main story.

The main plot is set in the world called Gamindustri and there are 4 sectors with each having their own goddess. Each of these goddess's are nick named after a real gaming console. The 4 main ones being Laystation/Playstation, Leanbox/Xbox, Lowee/Wii and Naptune/Sega Neptune. These 4 goddess are in a fight with each other called the console war. See what I mean about the game being random? But that's a good thing because it had me cracking up since we have these kinds of fights in real life all the time and the developer was very clever to use this. The story starts out with our 4 goddess arguing and fighting then all of them decided to gang up on Neptune and take her out since she was the most powerful one. So they succeeded and knocked her out of the sky. When she landed she hit her head so hard that she lost all memory of who she was and lost her goddess form for a while. Each goddess has a human looking form and can power up into their god form. She was later rescued by her new friend Compa. That's how our story starts and it was a great opening. As you progress in the story, Neptune starts to slowly regain her memories and winds up befriending many others on her adventure and finds out that there is a greater evil on the horizon. It's up to her and the other goddesses to put aside their differences to stop this evil.I will not say anymore to avoid spoiling the game but the story was a very nice treat with its plot and uniqueness. Now let me tell you a little about the gameplay. The music and art style fits the game perfectly since the game picks this very cute anime style that I love and the enemy them self are pretty funny. The combat system of the game is turn based where you take turns with your allies and enemies to attack each other. You have a few options when it's your turn to attack. You can do a basic attack that can combo into bigger ones or you can use your good old fancy EX DRIVE moves that hit hard and are super flashy. I love doing them and seeing one of my team members just shoot out like 100 rockets.

All in all the game is amazing and all the improvements they've done to it were spot on which made the game that much more lovable. The fans of the classics wont be let down with this remake. To the developers: I tip my hat to your amazing job. I can't wait to see more from your future Re;birth games.
