Grab The Games: Joe's Diner
Joe's Diner is an indie survivor horror game created by VIS and distributed by UIE GmbH. But what is truly Joe's Diner? Somewhere along the venerable Route 7, in the middle of nowhere, you will find Joe's Diner. As an employee working the graveyard shift for the next month, your primary task is to keep the tables clean – no tough challenge at all. Unfortunately there's a rub to it.
The old Diner was built on the site of a former Indian cemetery. Amongst the buried, two rival chieftains are laid to rest; while alive each could not stand the other. One chieftain endeavors only to rest in peace. The other, a prankster both in life and the afterlife, is prone to ruffle the feathers of his fellow chief. Besides your tasks as a waiter, it's up to you to keep things calm and not incur the angry chieftains' wrath. To lay them both to everlasting rest just do your duty. To be honest, I had a lot of faith for this game but unfortunately was so let down by it. But let me first start with the positive aspects of the game.
To begin with, I liked the whole environment where the game is taking place. It has a lot of details, a lot of things to interact with and honestly it is really well created. Another think I loved is definitely the intro and how the gamers are easily introduced into the game and the story of the diner. Furthermore, the narration in the beginning and whole sounds and music are really well given and they are definitely a positive aspect of the title. Another think worth mentioning is definitely the length of the game. The game features more than 30 shifts so expect to be busy for a lot of hours.
However, these are all the positive aspects. So now, let's talk about the negative ones. First and foremost, for me the game seems a little bit Five Nights at Freddie's inspired and the biggest negative for me that all you do is pick up objects and close machines and that is all for 30 nights. Same thing over and over! Another negative is that there is no clock in your screen so you can check when your shift ends. I know that there are clocks inside the dinner but it would be better if there were on screen. Another thing worth mentioning is that there is no actual difficulty only more plates to pick up and that is all.
To sum up, I can't really recommend this game unfortunately. It is too repetitive, not much of a challenge and to be honest, after a few shifts it is not really worth playing! I had high expectations for it which unfortunately were not met.
Verdict: 5/10
