Grab The Games: Kyn

I haven't played a good RPG game for a long time but recently a new interesting indie game came out called Kyn. But what is Kyn? In a world where Viking mythology collides with magic, explore the world of KYN in a fast paced role playing strategy game that combines party based combat with exploration and progression.

A Magical Viking World Brought to Life. Unlock the mysteries of the vast world of KYN as you explore ancient ruins, lush landscapes and snowy mountains filled with intricate puzzles and plenty of danger! Fight against a variety of intelligent enemies and use your skill and cunning to take out powerful boss enemies! Interesting so far right? Wait there is more!

The very first thing that will totally amaze you is definitely the graphics that are cartoon-like, they are shard and they match the vast open-world that the game offers. Another positive element is the hybrid elements of RPG and hack and slash which is one of the features I love a lot in this game. You can control all your characters and freeze time at the same time to plan your next moves. The quests are also amazing in this game and most of them are not simple, some them have puzzle too or require fighting waves of enemies while saving other people. There is also a deep crafting system and you can collect up to 100 different materials and craft numerous of items and gear. The abilities are highlights in this game and each of the characters have different specialization.

One of the most useful ones is the resurrect an ally which can resurrect pretty much anyone like they never died. Unfortunately that is all the positive aspects of the game. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, the first I didn't like is the dialogs which are really unrealistic and boring and if that was not bad enough, you will see them again on your left of your screen. The gameplay also from a point gets a little bit linear where you do the same things over and over again. Furthermore, most of the times you find crafting materials and not gear that you can actually use. I would also love a better way for the quest to be shown on the map and exactly where they are.

To sum up, this game is not too bad but it is not good either. There are some good elements and the price is attractive as well. I would suggest it to the hard-core RPG game lovers only.

Verdict: 6.5/10
