Grab The Games: Lucius II

Our favorite child from hell is back, better than ever and promises tones of blood and murder! The story of Lucius II continues where the original left off: Lucius emerges as the lone survivor of the burning wreckage his parents once called home, unscathed from the ruthless slaughter he had unleashed. He had taken the weak and punished the wicked. He had looked through their souls and found the true selves they had been hiding. Lucius is taken to the psychiatric ward of St. Benedict's Hospital by unsuspecting caretakers. The Book of Revelations predicts the birth of a child that would end up ruling the world with an iron rod. The first part of this prophecy has been fulfilled. It is time to take care of the rest. Whispers of a prophecy find their way to the boy's ears. Lucius decides to act again to regain his powers. But little does he know of his new adversaries...Just before I start my review let me tell you one thing. The game is way better than the first one!

The first think that I loved in this second adventure of the devil's son is that the game is not linear any more. Now the levels are like a big sand-box where you can kill anyone you like in a lot of new and fun (for you of course not your victims) ways. While the sand-box fun exist that hasn't stopped the developers to make the game story-driven and continue the story from where we have left it in the first part of the game. The cut scenes and the graphics in general are far better than the first and give the game an AAA element while at the same time we still have the murder fun we loved in the first part.

You can decide where and when you will kill more than 100 characters and in what way. From poisoning their coffee to falling accidentally from a broken elevator it is up to you and your devilish imagination what it should happen to your helpless victims! Among the new features of the game you will find that YOU can create your own version of Lucius by choosing your favorite supernatural abilities including mind control (far better than in the first title and personal favorite of mind) setting things on fire etc. Another thing definitely worth mentioning is the evolved combining mechanic. While in the first game you could combine limited objects now you have limitless possibilities and combinations that you can use to kill your enemies or distract them. It is up to you as I already mentioned.

However, there are some negative aspects I should mention but honestly they didn't spoiled the fun of this game. The first negative at least for me is that I found the story a little bit weak especially [spoiler coming] the part where our beloved detective joined Satan and was helping Lucius I was just not convinced Another aspect is that there are a few bugs in the game, some of them while you are using your abilities but I am sure they will be crashed soon. Moreover, the locations are a little bit limited. The hospital (with new floors etc.) and the small town of Ludlow and that is it, I would love to see more different locations!

Finally, despite the negative aspects in this title, they didn't bothered me at all and I had lots of fun playing the second coming of the devil's favorite child. The game is super addictive and the devs really brought the game to a whole new level especially if you make a comparison with the 1st one. The game offers sandbox devilish fun with a lot of twists and encouragements of killing creativity!
