Grab The Games: OBEY
And guess what? I am back with another review for all you guys! This time I am extremely happy to review OBEY.But what is this game? Is it worth the hype? Should you play it ASAP? Stick around and you will find out now. Let’s start by mentioning a few things about the game itself. OBEY is a highly asymmetrical multiplayer game. We've all played games where you send commands to AI units or teammates. OBEY instead puts you in the position to command your enemies (human opponents), and to be commanded by them. Players are always free to obey/disobey. It is always up to players to deal with the consequences of their decisions in the game. You win by bribing and coercing your opponents to do things against their own self interest (and in your interest). If you are being coerced you have only stealth, intelligence, trickery, and creativity to escape. OBEY is sort of like Counter Strike Jailbreak Mod meets Spy Party.
OBEY's social aspects have also been compared to Trouble in Terrorist Town and Town of Salem. To win, make more money than anyone else by the end of the round. To make the most money, take command of the giant robot (the robot player makes 10x more than the other players per second) you take control of it by walking into a door at the base of the robot. The player in the robot can easily destroy any player he sees trying to approach (IF he sees them). That's the basics so superficially, it plays like king of the hill'. Really interesting right? It honestly is more like a mind game as you can understand from before. You should plan your moves and create a strategy that will make you a winner each round. It may sound simple but it's not at all! To begin with, , the very first aspect that really surprised me is the graphics and in general the art work of the title.
They are really sharp, beautiful and they can satisfy pretty much everyone. They are not the best, but they are full of details and you can run the game in pretty much every PC so no complains here. Moreover, the sounds and the soundtrack in general is really good. You can use the mic to talk to your opponents/cute bunnies or use commands when you are inside the robot. There are also 6 maps and a map editor which allows the players to create their own maps. You don't want to play with other humans? Fear not, CPU will always be there and believe it is more ruthless than real-life opponents. Another positive at least for me is the length of the
match which is not too big but you have good quick matches. As far as the negatives aspects are concerned, I want to see more content in the game before it exits early access, new modes maybe, more maps etc. Another negative for me is that there aren't many people to play around and if there are, sometimes they act like 6 years old with the mics which is something unpleasant.
To sum up, the game despite the negatives is good to play, it's bug free and I had fun while playing a mostly mind/ social experiment type of game. I personally hope that all this negative aspects will be faced before the title exits early access and that this title will get the attentions it deserves.
Verdict: 7/10
