Grab The Games: Perception
Hello everyone, it is time for another review and this time I am really honored and sooo excited to present you Perception. Perception is a first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams.
After months of research, she discovers an abandoned mansion in Gloucester, MA.
Once there, Cassie finds that Echo Bluff is worse than her nightmares. A ghastly Presence has tormented its inhabitants over generations, and it now hunts Cassie. She must solve the estate's mysteries or become one of its victims. But is this game any good? Is it worth picking it up now that it is live on Steam? Well, stick around and you will find out. ? The very first thing that I really loved in this game is definitely the graphics of this great title. They are sharp, unique and I shouldn't forget to mention that I found it really challenging to try to find my way across the mansion and try to solve all kinds of puzzles and mysteries. Echolocation plays an important role in this title. You can see only by using the sound that create the objects around you. How cool is that?
Furthermore, I loved how you can face your own nightmares and how the story unfolds through exploration and your overall experiences in the game. Another positive aspect for me is definitely the fact that the game has some really good voice acting and narration. You can even choose from the start if you want your character to speak a lot and express herself or stay silent. As for the music, it is simply amazing and it creates a really cool atmosphere that can satisfy almost everyone. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, unfortunately they are a few I sound mention.
First and foremost the game lacks the threat aspect. Most of the times you have to create a lot of sound until an enemy appears and kill you. If you pay attention and stay quiet you will be ok. Another negative for me is that the game doesn't have any replay value. Maybe if there was an escalating difficulty or some short of DLC will give more value of playing the game again.
To sum up, the game is not bad but it doesn't stand out. It is a title that aims for the horror lovers but it fails since there are no scary moments and the difficulty is not high enough to enjoy at its full potential.
