Grab The Games: Saints Row: Gat out of Hell
This time we will take a small (big in fact) trip in hell. But first let's all wish Kinzie (Kensington) happy birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYYYY. Ok now I can continue with the review of the new Saints Row game. As our friends at Deep Silver stated After the space faring antics of Saints Row IV, many fans asked what we could do next the answer? Shoot The Devil in the face. Play as either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington as you tear apart Hell in a quest to save the leader of the Saints' soul. Historical icons, old friends, older enemies, a talking gun, a full length musical number, and a whole lot of other shenanigans all await you in the open world standalone expansion playground that is Saints Row: Gat out Of Hell.
This is a game I truly loved and I don't know why some people didn't like that much. So let's start our review with the positive aspects of the game. First and foremost, you are in hell open world style and you fly. You start war against the Prince of Darkness through-out the 5 unique districts of hell any way you want: rescue allies, pick a fight with nightmarish Arch-Dukes, rob Satan's soul processing plants dozens of options await you in an all new city unlike any that's been seen in Saints Row before. There is freedom in this game, you can face Satan the way you like or you can just create chaos in the city and spend hours killing everyone around you…that is a valid option as well. The story of the game is a definitely positive aspect for me. The cut scenes are simply amazing and you can even watch your boss from Saints Row IV get abducted to hell.
Something that should be definitely mentioned is the fact that there are cool superpowers in this title just like in the previous games of the series. You get most of saints row IV superpowers with a hellish twist and some new ones like summon devil imps that can kill your enemies or explode. Furthermore, the weaponry is full of surprises you can expect some the standard weapons of the series but also some sinful ones that for example shoot diamonds at high speed or exploding frogs or a badass armchair that can kill pretty much everyone and anything. Moreover, I loved the humor in this title. I couldn't stop laughing and I think you will appreciate this positive aspect as well. I also liked how the deadly sins were used in this title and how awesome it is to see weaponry inspired by them and an awesome twist of the Saints Row series.
However, there are some negative aspects that I should mention. Personally, I like the game as it is but I really miss these aspects from the game. First and foremost there is no customization which is something really bad because I would love to dress my character the way I want in the game. Furthermore, there is no radio/music in the game and there are no main mission in the game and gangs just like we have used to in the previous titles of the series.
To sum it all up, even though the negative aspects do exist in the game they really didn't bother me enjoying this title. I had an amazing time playing it and I totally recommend it not only to people who loved the classic Saints Row games but also to everyone who wants to play an AAA title and have a great time in HELL! Hell isn't a bad place after all if it is Saints Row style.
Verdict: 8/10
