Grab The Games: Shadowrun: Hong Kong - Extended Edition

The Shadowrun franchise is back and this time it invades Hong Kong. There is one thing to say before I start my review. Hong Kong will never feel the same after this game.. Let me tell you a few things about the game first. HONG KONG. A stable and prosperous port of call in a sea of chaos, warfare, and political turmoil.

The Hong Kong Free Enterprise Zone is a land of contradictions - it is one of the most successful centers of business in the Sixth World, and home to one of the world's most dangerous sprawl sites. A land of bright lights, gleaming towers, and restless spirits where life is cheap and everything is for sale.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong is the third standalone game in Harebrained Schemes' critically-acclaimed Shadowrun cRPG series. Experience the most impressive Shadowrun RPG yet with an all new crew, expanded magic and cyberware, a completely revamped Matrix, an upgraded release of the Shadowrun Editor, and much more!

The first thing that impressed me is definitely the classic story-driven like a novel game that doesn't make the game focused only in combat but enhances the overall experience of the gamer with amazing conversations between the characters and an excellent choice of soundtrack. Moreover, I like that they kept like in the Dragonfall game the command-your-team aspect and it is enhanced and improves. You can now choose attributes each time they level up and gain new abilities just like you.

The combat is turn based like we have got used to and there a huge variety of spells and weapons to choose from and infinite combinations. I love also the new UI and the more effective use of the inventory in the game. Moreover, you can now enter turn-based combat as soon as you see the enemy and surprise them. Furthermore, the new matrix system is simply mind blowing. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, there aren't many because the game is polished overall but there were a few bugs now and then that forced me to restart a few times.

To sum up, the game has really improved a lot since Dragonfall and it feels more polished, more story-driven and the artwork is simply breathtaking. I totally recommend it to everyone especially for the fans of the series!

Verdict: 9/10
