Grab The Games: Styx: Master of Shadows
I am really glad to present you today one of the game I wanted to review like crazy. Styx from Cyanide Studios! Styx: Master of Shadows is an infiltration game with RPG elements taking place in a dark fantasy universe, where you sneak, steal and assassinate your way through as Styx, a Goblin two-centuries of age. Deep inside the vertiginous and multi-layered forsaken Tower of Akenash, where Humans and Elves protect the World-Tree, source of the Amber a powerful and magical golden sap – is hidden Styx' chance to understand his true origin... and to make a fortune at the same time. Prowl through the huge, miles-high Tower of Akenash, completing various missions (assassination, information recovery, etc.) and avoiding detection. Progress in the shadows, assassinate your targets in close combat, or orchestrate «accidents». RPG mechanics let you unlock new powerful skills, impressive special moves, and an optimized equipment. Amber will grant you spectacular powers such as invisibility, «amber vision», and the ability to clone yourself. Explore the levels to discover every bit of information about your past, and steal prized treasures to acquire equipment upgrades. Embrace the shadows! This has a lot of unique features that I am sure every one of you will truly love while playing this game.
First and foremost the game is really tailored depending the way you want to play it. There are multiple paths and multiple ways you can achieve your goal and progress in the game Even though the game is focused on stealth and infiltration you can choose simply to kill everyone or you can sneak past them like a good Master of Shadows you are. And that is not it!
You can even use your surroundings to kill them. Furthermore, another aspect of the game that I loved is, the RPG elements. You can upgrade your skills and this aspect makes the game even better since you can create your own clone or kill your enemies from the corners. Amazing right? Well I am not done yet! This title features a magnificent level design and music. And if that was not enough the storyline of the game is really catchy, full of details and people who love games with good storylines they will really get addicted with it.
Furthermore, the AI of the enemies is really good. Enemies can see you on the light and on their line of sight. Also, the levels are really huge! There are not a lot of negatives since the game is truly magical. What I found as a disadvantage is that 90% of the times when you fall equals death which is really frustrating sometimes. Also, I didn't like the combat with your enemies you just have to parry 3 times and kill them.
To sum up, this game is made for all you hardcore stealth fans and for people who want to play a AAA game, have fun and let me reassure you will spend hours and hours in this magical title.
Verdict: 8, 5/10
+Level design and graphics
+RPG elements
+Tailored in the way you want to play it
