Grab The Games: Super Meat Boy Forever

Another day, another review for our fans, and this time, thanks to our friends at Team Meat and Plan Of Attach, we got our hands on a title I couldn't wait to play since it was announced. But is the game worth your attention, you may ask? Well, stick around, and you will find out. A few things about the game first.

Meat Boy and Bandage Girl have grown as a couple since 2010. It seems like only yesterday, the two love birds were escaping from an exploding laboratory in the sky. Now it's the current year, and they've welcomed their daughter Nugget into the world. Their peaceful days enjoying life as a family came to an abrupt end when Dr. Fetus beat the snot out of them with a rusty shovel and kidnapped Nugget! Now it's up to Meat Boy and Bandage Girl to rescue their daughter from a lunatic fetus in a jar that can only be described as an incel version of Tony Stark. To begin with, there are a few positive aspects to mention for the next installment of the franchise and one deal-breaker negative.

I loved the art style and how faithful it remained to the first game. The graphics are sharp and create a tremendous atmosphere for even the most demanding players. The levels are also really excellent, full of details, and in general, it manages to create a fantastic retro feeling. Moreover, the game is as hard as you remember it with highly improved boss battles and a great story that will definitely keep all kinds of players satisfied. Another aspect worth mentioning is that even new players can get the hang of it pretty quickly and test their skill in such a challenging but a fair game at the same time.

As far as the negative aspects are concerned, as I mentioned before, there is one that destroyed the whole game for me. Compared to the first title, the game is now an auto-runner with attacks and checkpoints, which is entirely opposite to what people loved in the first game. Instead of being positive, the auto-running feature adds up to the already great difficulty.

To sum up, the game is fun, but I can recommend it to some extends. For the fans of the original title, there is a huge disappointment and frustration for you. If you can surpass the negatives, the game has evolved, and it will attract more newcomers. Still, it has disappointed most players who anticipated a better next installment to the franchise.
