Grab The Games: The Flock
The game with the smartest marketing that I've seen so far is out. But what is the flock and is it worth picking it up? The Flock is a first-person asymmetrical multiplayer thriller for 3 - 5 players. You get to play as one of the agile monsters that make up the Flock.
Competing against the other monsters, you need to find and claim the Light Artifact. The player that finds the Artifact transforms into the Carrier, a slower and vulnerable humanoid. Only the Carrier can win the match. The game will feature three distinctive maps with their own tactics and level mechanics. As the Carrier you need to fend off the Flock by shining your light upon them as they are attempting to gain the Artifact for themselves! The Flock are vulnerable to the Artifact's light, but turn to stone when they stand still; rendering them immune to the power of the Artifact. When you are one of the Flock you must use your increased movability to find the wandering Carrier.
Stalk it, frighten it, and pounce when the moment is right. The first thing that really impressed me is definitely the graphics of the game. They are dark, atmospheric, sharp and the best part is that you don't need to have a monster pc to run it. The soundtrack is also really dynamic and it fits the game perfectly. Another feature that I like is that in this title all the players start equally and the game changes when someone finds the artifact. I love also the fact that there are ways to defend yourself even when you are part of the flock. Also, this multiplayer game comes with a population and an ending to the game, after which the game will never be playable again.
Please read the 'population' part in the description part down below to get a better understanding. However, the positive aspects end here and now it is time to mention the negative ones. The game has only one mode and 3 maps and that's all. I would love to see more and further development of it, why not an offline mode as well. The matches are also too short max 2-3 minutes. With the current features of the game does not justify its price 19.99euros is way too high.
To sum up, Flock is a fun multiplayer game for a while but after some time it gets repetitive and it has too many negative aspects. People should definitely consider the negative aspects before buying the game.
Verdict: 6/10
