Grab The Games: This War of Mine - Andriod / iOS
Today, I am more than happy to present you This War Of Mine but this time for your mobile devices (we reviewed the android version). We have reviewed the game in the past for PC (http://www.grabthegames.com/review-this-war-of-mine.html) and we were more than excited to see if the same atmosphere and enthusiastic gameplay can leave up to its myth in the Android devices as well. But let me introduce you the game properly in case you haven't heard about it at all. In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle. The first thing that I loved in this game is definitely the graphics.
The devs managed to maintain the same level of detail and beautiful environments that we saw on the Steam version of the game. Also, the graphics are like drown by hand with a pencil which in my opinion creates a really unique atmosphere for the player and made me love it even more. If you have a mobile phone with really good display capabilities you will definitely enjoy the game to its full potential and on-the-go. Furthermore, another positive aspect for me is the day-and-night cycle. During the day you can trade with other survivors, manage your household, craft items or cook for your survivors and make their lives as much easier as possible in these difficult times.
During the day you can't go out because of the snipers but during the night you can scavenge in various locations but you should also have in mind of your home that it may be vandalized/ scavenged while you are out. I reassure you that the night is more difficult than the day. A lot of dangers and other scavengers will try to stop you or even kill you. Furthermore, another aspect worth mentioning is definitely the fact that this game includes life-and-death decisions not only for your neighbors and friends but also for your survivors as well.
This is how I want to call it emotionally difficult. Will you help the children that knock on your door or you will ignore them and keep the resources for yourself? Your choice! As the devs say During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better. As far as the negative aspects are concerned, there aren't any. If I had to mention one it would be the fact that the game in order to run properly requires a really good android phone but believe me it is worth it.
To sum it all up, the game we were all introduced for our PCs just got evolved. You can have the exact same experience on the go without losing the atmosphere and the gameplay experience we all loved. Definitely worth buying!
