Grab The Games: Toren
Only you can change the path of faith. One of the quotes of the game that really stick to your head! Toren is a really great game both visually but in terms of gameplay as well. But let me present you the game properly.
Experience the mysterious, timeless world of Toren, the first adventure game from Brazilian indie developer Swordtales. You are Moonchild, destined to climb the tower (known as Toren) on a hauntingly solitary journey to find your purpose. You must solve puzzles and face monsters as you struggle to climb to the top of this beautiful, yet treacherous environment, driven by the will to find your freedom. To begin with, the first thing I loved in this game was the graphics and the original art style which provided a really unique game play experience for the player. The soundtrack of the game is really amazing and fits the title perfectly.
Furthermore, the story is really interesting, dark and it comes in contradiction with the colorful and vivid world where the game takes place. Another amazing aspect that really impressed me is that the main character of the game changes ages during gameplay. A really great idea and a really unique aspect. The game also features some puzzle elements especially when you are inside the dreams that are in the game and of course some platform elements throughout the game. However, there are some negative aspects that are really worth mentioning.
First and foremost, the main character hasn't voice in the game which is a negative for me since it would make the experience even better and it will enhance the story. There are also still bugs in the game like climbing invisible ledges and some glitches in the movement of the character. Also in some point half of the body of my character disappeared. Moreover, the combat, the puzzle and the platforming aspects are really basic providing no challenge at all. The cut scenes of the game are really low quality as well comparing to the game itself. Last but not least, the biggest negative aspect for me is that the game is extremely short. You can finish it in 2-3 hours easily and it doesn't justify the price of the game at all.
To sum up, the game is really beautiful and captivating but there are a lot of negative aspects. I recommend it to everyone but after checking the negative aspects and only during sale.
Verdict: 6/10
