Grab The Games: War for the Overworld
Time to built your own dungeon and destroy whoever stands in your way with your huge army and a huge variety of traps. It's time for the War for the Overworld. But what is this game really? Let's check what the devs have to say on the game's page. Tired of invading dungeons? It's time you build your own! Do you feel you are in a slump? Monotonously disemboweling evil guys in endless quests for gold and a slightly better pair of boots? You are starting to wonder... are heroics really your calling? Welcome to the War for the Overworld!
War for the Overworld is a Dungeon Management Game that employs your favorite aspects of the RTS and God Game genres. You play an all-powerful, malevolent Underlord, long banished to the Aether. With unrivaled dark power and an insatiable desire for bloody conquest, you will arise once more, and reclaim your realm! In your absence, the Underworld lost its way. It became feeble and afraid of the Empire of the Overworld, which grew strong and boldly comfortable in its quiet retirement from evil-slaying. Carve out your dungeon from the soil and stones of the Underworld, and build dozens of unique rooms to attract a myriad of creatures to your halls to work and fight for you. In addition to your faithful followers, you have destructive spells and powerful rituals to cast upon any unsuspecting goodly Hero (or rival Underlord) who dares to breach your unhallowed halls.
With your unmatched dark powers and mighty army of bloodthirsty minions, you are ready for your War for the Overworld! To begin with, the very first that I loved in this game is definitely the graphics of the game and the detailed world in which the game takes place. A huge variety of different environments each one with a different enemy to kill and different objectives and obstacles. Another thing worth mentioning is that the narration and the sounds of the game are amazing as well. You can also build your own dungeon. You can fortify it, choose from a variety of rooms and traps to improve it and make it completely your own. Moreover, the veins of evil can help you improve and discover new spells as well as new rooms. There is a huge variety of spells that will aid you in your fight against your enemies. I also love the way you can make your army.
You can attract new minions based on the rooms you have in your dungeon. Pretty cool right? The AI is amazing as well, hard sometimes and you need a really good strategy to outsmart them, you can also get in the mind of your minions and fight in 1st person (wow). Honestly, there are almost none negative aspects. The game had a really hard launch with a lot of bugs and other issues that were addressed almost instantly with a team that worked day and night to improve things and they succeed! The only thing I want to be improved is the mini map I would like it to be more detailed with an improved system to show you were the enemies are attacking from and how many they are.
To sum up, despite the difficult launch War for the Overworld is the proof that if a team believes in a project and works hard, everything can be improved. The game is almost perfect now and it is an amazing choice for every one that loves games like Dungeon Keeper. Keep it up guys, amazing work!
Verdict: 9/10
